In celebration of the brand’s 135th Anniversary, our long-time partners at Four Roses wanted to help their audience taste their offering like never before. For the first time in the brand’s history, Four Roses was looking to release a one-of-a-kind tasting kit that allows bourbon drinkers to taste all 10 of their signature recipes.

Four Roses engaged with JohnsByrne in August 2022 to begin brainstorming ways to make this kit their most unique unboxing yet. JohnsByrne was tasked with the opportunity to develop a unique, rigid structure that would showcase the bottles and memorialize this event.

Our Approach

• Our structural engineers got to work and developed three options to drive as inspiration: a telescoping box, one with a book flap cover, and another being a slip case with tray.
• As the Four Roses team liked the idea of showcasing the bottles through a split window, they ultimately chose the slip case with tray and ribbon pull reveal as the chosen creative.

Solution

Our collaboration for the Four Roses: Ten Recipe Tasting Experience resulted in a highly decorated structure. Both the slipcase and tray were printed on 80# C1S overwrap, utilizing a 4 Color process + Dull Varnish + Spot Gloss UV and featured gold foil stamping with a custom emboss pattern creating a leather grain feel that created high contrast.
